We extend our warmest congratulations to Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault, PhD candidate in Political Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences, on his election as Member of Parliament for the riding of Madawaska–Restigouche in New Brunswick.

Dominique Bourque, professor at the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa, is the editor of Daring Lesbian Love: Challenges and Delights (Éditions sans fin, 2025), a collective work produced in partnership with the Lesbian Archives of Quebec.

On June 20, Dominique Bourque, professor at the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa, will present the documentary Amazones d’Hier, Lesbiennes d’Aujourd’hui: 40 Years Later (2021) at the University of Salento in Lecce, Italy. She co-directed the film with Johanne Coulombe and Julie Vaillancourt.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is proud to celebrate the work of Véronic Delage, PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology, who co-authored the article that won the 2024 Best Article Award from the Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology (CJEP).

Emaad Samsodeen, an undergraduate economics student, has coauthored the article “Assessing Canada’s Policy Responses to Trump’s Tariffs” with Kevin Page of the Institute of Fiscal Studies and Democracy.  The article appeared in Policy Magazine on April 14, 2025.
