What an exciting summer it has been for Internationalization and Global Health at the Faculty of Medicine!

Over decades, Dr. Tsang has strengthened academic and research partnerships between Canada and Japan.

Building on its preferred partnerships, the Faculty is poised to share resources with CFPC’s Besrour Centre and its international network of collaborators.

Through the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Ottawa has become the first Canadian university to endorse the Brocher Declaration, a new set of principles intended to guide policy on short-term global health work, which too often fails to consider the needs of a host community and occasionally causes more harm than good.

As part of 91��ɫ’s expanded efforts in social accountability and commitment to creating a sustainable future, the Faculty of Medicine has appointed Dr. Husein Moloo as Director of Planetary Health.

What does it mean to be a physician in the 21st century? Does the answer lie in an epidemiology textbook exclusively, or rather, should we also look to the humanities and social sciences for a new concept of health care in a post-COVID world?

With the rapid globalization of our world in recent years, society has witnessed countless examples of international and national scientific initiatives working hand-in-hand to improve public health and deliver health care to urban or rural populations, locally or around the world.

The University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine has renewed its preferred partnership with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Fukui for another 5 years.

Congratulations Dr. Manisha Kulkarni on being appointed as the Interim Global Health Program Director for the International and Global Health Office (IGHO) from January 1 to December 31, 2021.
