Professor Michael Geist is listed on Canadian Lawyer magazine’s second annual list of the Top 25 Most Influential in the justice system and legal profession in Canada.

Professors Jane Bailey and Valerie Steeves, and Professor Teresa Scassa are co-principal investigators on two Partnership Development Grants of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Professor Jennifer Chandler has been awarded a 2-year research grant by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for her project entitled "Fixing Memory: The Ethics of Detecting, Suppressing and Enhancing Memory."

Professor Jane Bailey is a Co-Investigator on a $2.5 million SSHRC Major Collaborative Research Initiative (MCRI) grant for a project entitled “Repenser le droit processuel : vers une cyberjustice” (“Rethinking Procedural Law: Towards a Cyberjustice”).

Professor Jeremy de Beer is the co-principal investigator, with Tobias Schonwetter, on a new research project on intellectual property and open development in Africa, called the “Open AIR project.” Chidi Oguamanam is also deeply involved in the project as a researcher and member of the steering committee.

Professor Ian Kerr presented “In Machines We Trust? Cloud computing, ambient intelligence and robotics” on April 6, 2011 at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Philosophy and supported by Microsoft Research Cambridge.
