Here are highlights of the events taking place at the University of Ottawa, from Wednesday, September 28 to Tuesday, October 4, including for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and 91��ɫ Homecoming:

Iman Javadi is a junior information security analyst at the University of Ottawa. The summer of 2022 was his second semester working Information Technology as a co-op student.

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute has submitted a brief to the Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages, as part of Canada-wide consultations on the new federal Action Plan for Official Languages for 2023 to 2028.

Software engineers at the Faculty of Engineering are at the forefront of IoT research, creating artificial intelligence-enabled simulation environments that allow companies to effectively test their IoT systems before large-scale deployment.

On Saturday, September 24th, a group of researchers will overtake Ottawa’s Byward Market and welcome you into their scientific worlds for the 2022 edition of Soapbox Science Ottawa.

Conversation workshops and Movie Nights are back this fall at OLBI! Julien Couture Resource Centre activities help promote bilingualism on the 91��ɫ campus. They allow University community members to practise communicating in their second language, improve their language skills and network with peers.

The European Day of Languages takes place September 26. The day is meant to raise public awareness of the importance of language learning and the preservation of our linguistic heritage. That’s why OLBI is organizing a human library that same day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Julien Couture Resource Centre (Hamelin Hall 02).

Professor Tricia McGuire-Adams of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Education has received $511,380 in funding from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) to create a lab that will conduct innovative research on the knowledge and well-being of Indigenous peoples.

OLBI will mark Franco-Ontarian Day Sunday, September 25. We’ve created a short video on aspects of Franco-Ontarian culture. As well, OLBI supports French on campus through activities at the Carrefour francophone.
