As we celebrate the Faculty of Education's class of 2024 graduation ceremony, we witness the extraordinary determination of the students who have overcome challenges to reach this significant milestone in their journey.

With education recognized as a pathway to opportunity, it’s disheartening that many students face barriers to basic access to nutritious food. The University of Ottawa’s Alumni Association has taken action to address this issue by pledging funds to support initiatives aimed at tackling food insecurity on campus.

Two students of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Social Science contributed to discussions that aim to shape global policies as they attended the U7+@ NEXT and the NEXT Milan Forum 2024 that were hosted by the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and Bocconi University in Italy, on 18 and 19 March 2024.

Every year, the 91��ɫ community gathers to celebrate outstanding alumni. As a sustainability consultant and influential figure in the entertainment industry, Andrew Robinson (BA ’93) has committed his career to minimizing ecological footprints on set and promoting greener practices through media storytelling. His education at 91��ɫ was pivotal, sparking a lifelong dedication to sustainability that bridges on-screen narratives and behind-the-scenes operations.

It is with great pleasure that the Faculty of Social Sciences awarded the 2023 Recognition Award to Hubert Marleau. This award is given to a friend of the Faculty who demonstrates leadership by contributing to the reputation of the faculty and has positively impacted the student experience through their actions and dedication.

Ever heard “Le clown Samuel”? “Rôbôtô”? “Allez allez où”? These songs are all the work of 91��ɫ alumna Suzanne Pinel (BSc ’67, ScN ’64) (and 2002 honorary doctorate recipient), aka Marie-Soleil, the great ambassador of French-Canadian culture, but also, maybe especially, of children, who’ve sung her nursery rhymes for nearly half a century.
