About the Speakers
Bruce McIvor's ancestors took M茅tis Scrip at Red River in Manitoba. Bruce holds a law degree, a Ph.D. in Aboriginal and environmental history, and is a Fulbright Scholar. He is a member of the Manitoba M茅tis Federation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Amnesty International Canada. He is a partner and co-founder of First Peoples Law LLP.
Professor Brenda Macdougall, Ph.D., is a leading expert in the history of M茅tis and First Nations as University Research Chair in Metis Family and Community Traditions at the University of Ottawa, where she also serves as the Director of the Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies and the University鈥檚 Indigenous Advocate.
The conversation will be moderated by Anoush F. Terjanian, Ph.D., Special Adviser to the Vice-President, International and Francophonie and a Fellow of the HRREC at the University of Ottawa.
