Check the minimum admission requirements
If you are applying from a secondary school, you must meet the following conditions to be considered for admission to an undergraduate program:
- Have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining, your Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC).
- Have earned a minimum average of 75% (requirements could be higher, depending on the program of study you select)
- Have completed, or be in the process of completing, the prerequisites for the program of your choice. Unless otherwise indicated, all prerequisites must be completed in your senior year.
Space is limited and admission is competitive and not guaranteed. The University of Ottawa reserves the right to deny admission, even if an applicant meets all requirements.
If you are currently studying in a French Lycee, IB curriculum, GCE curriculum or an American High School, please consult the pages specific to your situation.

Check the鈥痯rerequisite courses and additional requirements.鈥痀ou must have taken these prerequisites in secondary school or their college or university equivalents.鈥疨lease note that if you have attempted university or college studies and completed your prerequisites in secondary school, they will not be counted in your admission average. Your average will be calculated based on your postsecondary courses. Indeed, if you completed or attempted postsecondary studies, your admission average is calculated based on them, even if you apply to an undergraduate program.

Prepare your required documents
If you are currently in the process of obtaining your Higher Secondary School Certificate or AISSC, submit the following documents through :
- Transcript of the past three years of secondary studies
- Transcript of results from the first semester of your final year
If you have already graduated, submit the following documents through :
- Transcript of the last three years of secondary studies
- Proof of diploma
Check that you meet the language requirements
Courses at the University of Ottawa are given in English, French, or both languages. Therefore, you must master one of the two languages to be admitted.
If you鈥檙e applying for an English-language program and have not completed at least three years of full-time study in an institution where English is the only language of instruction (except for language courses), in a country where English is an official language, you must submit your official score after taking one of the language tests recognized by the University.
However, students from India can receive an exemption if they have completed the CBSE or CISCE senior English subject with a final grade of 75% (Indian grading scale). If you are currently attending secondary school, you can submit interim grades (for example, pre-board exam results).

If you have completed some postsecondary studies, you will be evaluated on that basis, even if you are applying for an undergraduate program.
We may grant you transfer credits, depending on the program to which you apply. Faculties that grant transfer credits will base their decision on the discipline, the courses you have completed, and the length of your studies.
